Sunday started very early
with the Champion Show Hunter Over 15hh. Taking out the class for
the second successive year was
Charlotte Thomson's Gryffindor who raced successfully as Well Shod.
In second place was Nicole Milton & WL Jerboa with Therese Bussell &
True Calling third. The Sportsmanship Award also went to Therese
Bussell. |

14-15hh was awarded to Tessa Hughes' Mirinda Kingsway who was second
last year. Second went to Kimberley Higgins & Kista Park
Coronation with Shannen Graham's Glowing Report third. The
Sportsmanship Award went to Kirra Burgess riding Wingana On Parade. |

Champion
Show Hunter ne12hh was awarded to Jasmine Anderson's Rivington Time
Frame. In second place was Jessica Gibson's Moorabindi Masterpiece
with Stacey Faehrmann's Dalgangle Snowline third. The
Sportsmanship Award went to Felicity Atkinson riding Summerview Candyman.
The Champion Show Hunter
12.2hh - 14hh was awarded to Kelli Probert & Mirinda Regatta for the
fourth year in succession with Leanne Donoghue's Springwood Dance on the
Moon second and Daniel Hines & Castleglen Mayfair third. The
Sportsmanship Award went to C O'Leary riding Smithfields Limerick. |

The Leading Rein Class was
next where riders aged between 4 and 7 years of age were judged.
The class was taken out by Madeline Pagon riding Rivington Victoria
(owned by Isabelle Barker) with the pair looking to form a permanent
partnership for the future. Second place was awarded to RB & CA
Gale's Springvale Denim & Lace with third going to Jaimee Bruggemann &
Tundra Park Distinction. |

The SA Small Pony of the
Year was taken out by C Lawrie & A Penalurick's Hollys Spring Show for
the second successive year from Ashlee Anderson's Kolbeach Memoir with
Brook Egel-Eaton's Kencot Gimme Gold third. The Sportsmanship
Award went to Nicholas Lundquist riding My Haven Windsong. |

The SA Large Pony of the Year
saw Sue Bulling's Sanlirra Just Gossip ridden by Margot Haynes
successful from C Thomson & A Hunt's KB Covers ridden by Nicholas
Lundquist. Third was Dayna Walker-Matthews & Woodbine Emerald with
the Sportsmanship Award going to Kelli Probert riding Sanlirra
Stagelight.

The SA Galloway of the Year
was awarded to C Lawrie & Kolbeach Magic with the runner up Kelly White
& Janevelyn Jazzman with Shelley Pollard and Kolbeach Review third.
The Sportsmanship Award went to Sabrina Jaeschke riding KB Marine. |

Another huge group of
quality horses lined up
for the SA Show Horse of the Year. The event was taken out by Flawless ridden by Leanne Donoghue and owned by Charlotte
Mitton for the second year in succession. Raced as Tannice
he won 3 races in New South Wales before being sent to Victoria where he
was tried as a hurdler finishing third at Sandown before being retired
in 2001. Reserve Champon went to Margot Haynes & Grazier who had
been third in 2006. Grazier raced
as Super Sunrise and won 6 races and was placed 15 times from 39 starts
in Victoria and South Australia. Third place went to Sabrina
Jaeschke's Simla Road. Simla Road also raced under that name and
spent his entire career in country New South Wales where she won two
races and was placed 12 times in 34 starts retiring in 2003. The
Sportsmanship Award went to Sam Kennedy riding Famous (who sold for
$135,000 as a yearling but his best performance on the track was a fifth
placing in a Group 2 2yo race). |
