Race 1 - Clipsal Hcp 1400m Carlin (left) dropped back to last early. She moved forward around the turn and shouldered her way out at the top of the straight. Royal Realm had hit the front but Carlin who was storming down the centre of the track gave nothing else a chance as she hit the front with 50m to go and raced away to win by 3/4 length from Royal Realm with Nothing But Gold third.

Race 2 - AAMI Greys Hcp 1100m Final Mist settled midfield before sprinting through the field on straightening. He charged after the leaders Dequello and San Andreas Fault with Mandela running on wide on the track. Final Mist hit the front with 30m left and came away to win by 1 1/2 lengths from Mandela with San Andreas Fault third. San Andreas Fault appeared sore in his action as he was led back to scale riderless by the clerk of the course.

Bitski (left & below) sat outside the leader Voodoo Sunset (below) early but dropped back to be second a length behind the frontrunnner during the run. At the 500m Bitski moved up to join the leader with Currency Road moving up three wide. Bitski raced clear on straightening and defied the backmarkers to run him down. On the line he was two lengths clear of Fusing with Tailight third. The 11yo Bitski was having his 151st start for his 18th win in the event.

Race 4 - Yalumba Classic Hurdle 3600m Preludes (below) settled back in last place from the outset but have moved to third last by the 2200m mark. Midfield by the halfway mark he continued to steadily make ground to be sixth by the 1200m. Jetscay (below) led over the jump at the 800m from Sound and Preludes starting his bid for the lead close to the rails. At the jump at the 650m Preludes and Sound joined Jetscay with Sound racing clear soon after. Preludes was in hot pursuit around the home turn from Jetscay and Big Bonus. On straightening Preludes hit the front from Sound and Bold Impulse wide out. Over the last Preludes increased his lead to race away winning convincingly from Bold Impulse with Sound third and all runners completing the course.
