Milluna Stud, Yearling Parade Open day

An open day for the inspection of yearlings being prepared for the
Adelaide Magic Millions Sale held from February 19 to 21,  2001

Milluna Stud stands Made of Gold and Saratoga Springs, the latter being a son of the Northern Dancer sire El Gran Senor who began his southern hemisphere stud career in 2000 and is due to return for 2001 and 2002. Made of Gold is the established resident stallion and has made a brilliant start to his stud career. Named as the leading Australian First Season Sire in the 1997-98 season he has sired 65 runners for 42 winners of 128 races. Included among his progeny are the stakeswinners Gold Crystal, Mint of Gold, Gilded Angel, Smytzer's Rivalry, Angel's Jewel, Gilded Hussar and My Golden Bracelet. Made of Gold has 30 yearlings due to be offered in Adelaide and many are half or full relations to stakeswinners.

Lot 108 is bay filly by Made of Gold out of Pheroz Mystery. Pheroz Mystery is a half sister to the stakewinner Furama Nights and her granddam is Pheroz Jewel the dam of champion miler Super Impose.

Lot 121 is a brown filly by Canny Lad from Proud Justice. She is the first foal of Proud Justice but this lots third dam is Ingenue who produced 11 foals for 7 winners. These included Pride of Ingenue the tiny filly who won 8 races as a 2yo and went on to foal Silence Prevails, Motown Blue a stakewinner, Forever Ingenue winner of 6 races and Innocent Lady dam of stakewinner and promising sire Justice Prevails.

Lot 141 is a chestnut colt by Made of Gold from Runaway Queen. He is the first foal of Runaway Queen but further back in this New Zealand family are the stakewinners Brutus (13 wins incl G1 WRC Marlboro Mile) , Visionary and Shinnecock.

Lot 203 is a bay colt by Geiger Counter from Tantalize. He is a half brother to the brilliant WA 3yo Pennyweight Point winner of the Gr2 WATC Lee Steere Stakes and 2nd in the WATC Fruit n Veg Stakes.

Lot 226 is a chestnut colt by Made of Gold from Vanda Miss Joaquim. He is a full brother to the speedy filly Gold Crystal a stakeswinner at 2 years and the multiple winner Freegold.

Lot 235 is a chestnut colt by Made of Gold from Water Festival. The second foal of Water Festival this colt is a half brother of the promising Skiing.

Lot 243 is a chestnut filly by Spartacus from Zamadera. Zamadera is a half sister to the multiple stakewinner Waihora's Lass and other black type in the family include Gold City, Sioux Chief, Big Sioux and Northeast Sheila.

Lot 280 is a chesnut colt by Made of Gold from Brondquill. Brondquill recorded 8 wins during her racing career and is making a promising start as a broodmare. Her two oldest foals Damon (by Damister) and Gold Heritage (Made of Gold) are multiple winners and their younger siblings Gold Talents and Gold Millenium (both by Made of Gold) are making promising starts to their careers finishing in the placings.

Lot 375 is a chestnut filly by Made of Gold from Gourmet Star. This is Gourmet Star's second foal with her first being placed at 2 years of age. Gourmet Star is a half sister to stakeswinner Reigning Halo and stakeplaced Mr Zemindar with the family tracing to Dowie winner of 15 races and Prince Miasma.
