Magic Millions Sale was held on February 18th and 19th for the Select Sessions and
February 20th for the Summer Session.
Lot 3 - son of the mighty OSSIE COSSIE
This colt was offered by Erinvale Thoroughbreds as agent for DHK Investments. He is by Timber Country (by Woodman) who won over US$1 million on the track including the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1).
At stud Timber Country has sired stakewinners such as Mugamuchu and Admire Touch and in Australia his first crop are now only 2yos.
Ossie Cossie was a speedy grey mare who recorded 19 wins including the Listed Tatt's Lightning Hcp. She was trained in country NSW but travelled extensively in NSW, Victoria and SA including running third in the Group 2 AJ Moir Stakes. Ossie Cossie is a half sister to Force of Destiny dam of the stakesplaced winner Grey Regent.
This chestnut colt was purchased by Doug Harrison of Victoria for $42,000.
Sired by Fuji Kiseki this chestnut colt was offered by Oakford Thoroughbred Farm as agent.
Fuji Kiseki is a son of legendary sire Sunday Silence and was the champion 2yo colt in Japan. At stud he has sired multiple stakeswinners in Japan including Daitaku Riva, Tosho Andre and Tenshino Kiseki. His first Australian crop are only aged two but are showing plenty of promise.
Palace Spirit was a winner and has previously produced one foal to race for a winner. Palace Spirit is from the stakesplaced Blithe Spirit who has produced two other winners in the stakesplaced Lauriston Lass and Nikos both by Rubiton. The fourth dam of this colt is Kingston Rose who produced the Group 1 stakeswinners Rose Of Kingston (dam of Kingston Rule) and Spirit of Kingston.
The purchaser of this colt was Grandway Racehorse Company of Hong Kong for $47,500.
Lot 14 - half sister to SMYZTER'S TRISH
A member of the second crop of King of Kings this filly was offered by McBryde's Summerset Park Stud in South Australia and was purchased by Wattle Gully Stud of New South Wales for $60,000.
King of Kings, a son of Sadlers Wells, was a multiple Group One winning champion during his racing career and his first two-year-olds are now racing well throughout Australia. Many of the leading trainers are among the buyers of youngsters by King of Kings and it's no real surprise as most are lovely types and are showing early signs of promise.
Patronella has produced three foals to race and all have won including the stakeswinners Smytzer's Trish and Stella Artois.

A bay colt, this yearling is the 11th foal of Pazzhi of which 8 have raced all winners. Offered by Eagle Ridge as agents and purchased by Stuart Gower for $44,000 this grey colt is by Kenvain from Perfect Idea.
Kenvain by Kenmare and out of a Vain mare was an out and out sprinter on the racetrack winning 6 races including the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate. At stud he has stakeswinning sprinters and stayers including Rain Gauge (MV Cup), sprinter Romilada and Ken Cheval plus Sedation, Dallaeni and the ill fated Work and Turn.
Perfect Idea won 6 races and has produced 3 foals to race for 2 winners. This colt was a full brother to the Christmas Handicap (G3) winner Ken Cheval.
The purchaser Stuart Gower has had a great deal of success with the stock of Kenvain including Pray in Vain, Always Aspire, Princess Nicky and of course Niavnek.

Offered by Collingrove Stud this bay filly is by Royal Academy who has sired stakeswinners such as Oscar Schindler, Ali Royal, Kenwood Melody, Honour the Name, Sarson Trail, Quays, Regal Kiss etc while her dam is the Sir Tristram mare Portrait Collector.
Portrait Collector has produced 3 foals to race for two winners including Final Exhibit (by Rory's Jester).

He's by Encosta De Lago whose oldest progeny are now 3yos but he has already produced stakeswinners such as Chong Tong, Dragila, Gold Lottey and is the sire of this years Adelaide Magic Millions Classic winner Milkshake.
Quisera is the dam of two foals including this yearling and has not had any reach the track as yet. She is from Show Gallery who in turn is from the Showdown mare Show Day.

Another of the Fuji Kiseki offerings was this filly offered by Murrulla Stud.
She is from Danzatore mare Dancer's Glory who has produced five winners at stud including Fuji Dancer, Elegant Court, Brockade and Hoedown.
Dancer's Glory is from champion broodmare Taiona (by Sovereign Edition) who produced the stakeswinners Sovereign Red, Gurner's Lane, Trichelle and Queen's Choice.
She also foaled Delia's Choice (dam of stakeswinners Foxwood and Opposing Force) and Scarlet Robin (dam of SW Estimable).
Purchased by John Chalmers Bloodstock of Western Australia for $135,000 this filly topped the sale.

From only one crop racing in Australia, the Collingrove Stud based Perugino has been a wonderful success story down under.

Although the Adelaide Magic Millions has followed the trend of the other major sales in a lower sales average compared to last year it held its place as the third best sale in the country behind the Australian Easter Sale and the Gold Coast Magic Millions. The total sale aggregate was $11,041,500 with the average price being $37,052. The top price of the sale was for the Fuji Kiseki filly Lot 265 and there was a clearance rate of over 76%.
The summer session produced a sale aggregate of $2,181,250 with an average price of $15,470 with the top price of $65,000 being for Lot 432 a brown filly by Bellotto from Poet's Breeze offered by Wiringa Thoroughbreds and sold to Magic Millions as agent.
