Rymill Park
is best known as the centrepiece of the cross country course during the
Australian International Horse Trials held in November. The lake
used for the water jump has been empty since last December when it was
decided to drain the water due to a number of issues. With the
Horse Trials only 3 month away work has begun so the lake will be
refilled and currently there is a lining of black plastic which will
apparently remain when work is complete and the lake is again ready to
host the water obstacles in November.
On a recent Sunday the
National Bank also used the Rymill Park location for its Adelaide
celebration of 150 years of the National Australia Bank with a number of
AFL stars attending in the morning while Jon Stevens of Noiseworks
completed proceedings. Despite the constant rain (as can been seen
in the photos below) and the 10 degree temperature a small crowd turned
out to see a fantastic performance of hits Touch, No Lies, Take Me Back,
Simple Man and the rousing Hot Chilli Woman plus a number of other songs
from later in Jon Steven's career.
