Uncle Petrika soon hit the front to lead Motu Miss Anna then Viva La Fever and Flying Hardwick with A Touch of Flair second last.  With a lap to go Uncle Petrika led Glenbogle then Motu Miss Anna as A Touch of Flair moved up to 6th but three wide.  Uncle Petrika broke clear along the back from Motu Miss Anna as Glenbogle weakened and A Touch of Flair moved to third.  Around the turn A Touch of Flair joined Uncle Petrika who kicked back strongly.  Uncle Petrika held on to the narrowest of leads to win from A Touch of Flair with Whatsundermykilt running on for third.

Winforu led Toe Taper & Robin Hood with Blacks A Fake third last.  Two laps to go Winforu led Be Good Johnny then Robin Hood and Foreal with Blacks A Fake second last.  Winforu led as Blacks A Fake went around the field to be second into the home straight with a lap to go from Robin Hood with Tribute three wide with Be Good Johnny following Blacks A Fake.  Turning for home Winforu led but Blacks A Fake soon challenged with Tribute three wide and Foreal four wide.  Blacks a Fake hit the front halfway down the straight to come away to win from Winforu with Foreal third as Tribute grabbed fourth a nose ahead of Be Good Johnny using the spring lane.
