Sunday finally saw the
return to equestrian competition with the EFA Show where the transferred
Grand Slam events were decided after having originally been programmed
for the abandoned horse schedule for the 2007 Adelaide Royal Show (due
to EI). A second hack ring was run throughout the day. It
was great to be back action after 5 months of cancellations due to the
EI outbreak and organisers did a fantastic job for the first full day
show back.
The hack ring had over 40
events decided for Galloways, Hack and Ponies under the eye of judge Sue
Olson while the Be Active Grand Slam events were judged by Elizabeth
Hunt and Elizabeth Chibnall. The Rider under 10 years, Rider 10-12
years and Rider 12-14 years was awarded to Shauna Chaplin, Brianna
Duncan-Coward and Jamie Stichel respectively. The Be Active EFA
Regional Grand Slam Pony ne 14hh class went to Dunelm Sequin ridden by
Dani Jolly-Blacket with Wingana Perfection and Shauna Chaplin taking out
the Reserve award. The Be Active EFA Regional Grand Slam Galloway
over 14hh ne 15hh was taken out by A Dunn's Cheraton Chardonnay with L
Donoghue's Share the Moment the Reserve Champion. The First Season
Pony ne 14hh was decided next with victory going to Margot Haynes &
Holly's Spring from S Faehrmann's Kolbeach Peter Pan. I Barker's
grey Ridgewood Park C'est La Vie was successful in the First Season
Galloway 14hh - 15hh. T Bussell's Exchequer took out the award for
First Season Hack over 15hh.
