Its been a long two years but the horses were finally back this year after the devastation caused by EI in the spring of 2007. The grounds again look magnificent and this year saw a new program with the Hacks starting on Saturday and the Pony classes in the last few days with breeds throughout the week. The first Friday also saw the return of the Hunt Clubs in the Section 4s and a mini horse trials with showjumping and cross country jumps courses. The spring weather also hit Adelaide with warm sunny days throughout the show with the only exception Sunday when it was overcast eventually leading to a downpour in the late afternoon. In the horse trials competition
Olympians Wendy Schaeffer and Megan Jones were amongst the entries but in
the end it was Luke Jones who took out first place with Captain Fantastic
(they were the first pair to go around the course) and second with Soul.
Wendy Schaeffer with Koyuna Sun Magic was third with Nicole Falkiner &
Beechwood Warlord 4th. |
