Action returned to the Wayville
grounds of the Adelaide Royal Show with plenty of action on Day1. The
surface of the main arena has undergone extensive work to improve the
drainage and durability for the 9 day event - by the second day the proof
was already there with the showjumping using one section of the arena twice
in a row. 2004 has seen a new Ringmaster in charge with Mr Hamish Finlay taking over from Rob Hunt who has held the role for the last 4 years. Rider Classes (Judge - Mrs Lindy Johnson NSW )
Girl Rider
10-12 years opened the equestrian events with Courtney Remington taking the
class from Laura Johnson and Shannen Graham while in the Girl Rider 8-10
years Tessa Hughes was successful from Isabella Walsh and Penny Smith.
India Rich won the Girl Rider 5-8 years from Nicole Metcalfe and Jasmine
Anderson while the Boy Rider under 14 years went to Samuel Arnold from Max
McKay and Thomas O'Connor. In the afternoon the Girl Rider 12-14 years
was awarded to A Reid from Simone Pearce and Laini Seddon. Jumping
The Junior Jumping competition
was won by Sarah Willoughby on the big black St Elmo's Fire with Kate
Brideoake second on Zaphrod and Sheridan Manuel riding Apricot D third.
Hack classes (Judges - Mr Anthony Mountney NSW (Ponies), Mr David Ross Vic (Galloways & Hacks) ) The Pony Hack Novice 12.2hh - 13hh opened the hack classes with victory going to Lesfield Toymaster from Kira Royal A Fair with both owned by S Rich with N Somerville's View Bank Boyd taking third place. The Pony Hack Novice 13-13.2hh went to K White's Langtree Galaxy from D Plumb's Yindarla Park Paris with K Baverstock's Langtree Hallmark third. The Galloway Hack Novice 14-14.2hh was awarded to S Penny's Willowcroft Regal Rhapsody with K White's Janevelyn Jazzman second and S Coleman's Kylandee Royal Heights third. The Pony Hack 13.2-14hh went to S&T Jaeschke's Weatherley Enchantment with second going to C Thompson's Glo Brook Georgie Boy with K Probert's Mirinda Regatta third. D&K Viceban's Langtree Snippets won the Pony Hack Novice ne 12hh from J Devrome & E Richardson's Mallawa Park Legendary second and J Anderson's Mynarra Cleo third. The final class was the Pony Hack Novice 12-12.2hh with victory awarded to Lyndale Stables & A Penalurick Kolbeach Bouquet from R & C Gale's Kolbeach Toy Story with B Graham's Cheraton Serendipity third. Police Classes The Police classes feature on
the first day of the show each year and this year Best
Turned Out Police Horse and Rider went to Heracles & T Taylor while the Best
Police Rider was taken out by S Cooper and Limelight. |
