Despite the
overnight heavy rain the main arena was in perfect order for the second day
of the Royal Show. The sun was out most of the day and the predicted
rain held off although freezing winds persisted all day. Hacks
The Pony Hack 12-13hh went to McDowall Family and J Cowie's
Langtree Cartier with Tessa Hughes' Janlyn Royal Secret second and R Addison
& C Boyle's Sanlirra Mink Mittens third. The Lady's Galloway 14 to
15hh was taken out by R Barry's Mirinda Height of Fashion from Melissa
Karutz's Beaufort Domingo with L Donoghue's Donlea Rare Moment third.
Pony Hack13 to 14hh was awarded to E Richardson's Torrensway Momento from
Tamara Cooper's Braefoot Park Springfield with Sally Mitchell's Phantom Park
Express third. The Shetland Pony Hack went to J Devrome and E
Richardson's Otway View Quintania from K&N&D Riemer's Pentland Precious with
Samantha Langridge's Lynvale Lodge Trentham third. The Pony Hack under
11hh was won by I Baker's Rivington Harriet from N&M Bruggemann's Macdhui
Sally's Surprise. The Pony Hack 11 to 11.2hh was awarded to C&R Gale's
Imperial Pippa from Jackie Little's Teringal Ballard with Jasmine Anderson's
Dalgangle Candice third. The Best Novice Galloway Hack was awarded to
R Barry's Mirinda Height of Fashion. The Pony Hack 11.2 to 12hh went
to PC & KA Oliver's Elken Ruffian from R Butler's Stanton Park Moment in
Time. The Pony Hack 12 to 12.2hh saw McDowall Family & J Cowie's
Langtree Cartier again successful from Tessa Hughes' Janlyn Royal Secret
while the Pony Hack 12.2 to 13hh went to KR White's Langtree Distinction
from L Warburton's Falconhurst Classic. As the cold and dark
conditions started to close in the final two classes were decided with PC&
KA Oliver's Stanbury Park Playboy taking out the Galloway class while B
Edelbauer's Sanlirra Parasol continued to perform well winning the Pony Hack
13 to 13.2hh from Kelli Probert's Tallyrand Easter Promise.
Showjumping
The first of three events for the day went to Kristy Bruhn
riding Murph while Rebecca Allen and Falcon took out the second event from
Fiona John riding TG Declan and Narnia Schuessler riding Classic Calypso.
The final jumping class of the day was over in a very short time with Brook
Dobbin riding TEP Clover Flush too good for the rest headed by Billy Raymont
and Royal Selections with Matt Williams and Star For Me third.
Rider
The rider class for the day was the Good Hands Competition
Championship for riders under the age of 12. Katelin Clark was named
the champion in this event with Paige Grocke the Reserve Champion.
