The warm weather and sunshine returned for the sixth day of the show with
the highlight event of the day being the World Cup Qualifying Round held at
lunchtime. Showjumping The first showjumping class opened the day with Tyrone Latham and Presto winning from Phillips Stephens and Bulletproof with Lachlan Manuel riding Carlton third. The World Cup Round then took centre stage as the vet trot up was held then the class itself two hours later. Four combinations made it through to the jump where they all went clear again with time the deciding factor. Billy Raymont and Royal Selections who went last proved the fastest winning from Brook Dobbin and TEP Clover Flush with Leanne Bruggemann and Tawjoy third and Robert Agnew riding DP Envy fourth. Rider classes The Lady Rider 18 to 21 years was decided in the morning with the event awarded to B Payne from S Hangar with Susanna Verco third. A huge class turned out for the Lady Rider over 21 and victory went to Margot Haynes and her mount (who stood proudly with ears pricked or perhaps was posing for the photo below) from S Penny with R Lawrie third. Champion Gentleman Rider over 18 years was taken out by Sean Bignell from BM Thompson with Greg Crocker third. Hack Classes The first of many hack classes for the day was the Hack 15.2hh to 16hh with first place awarded to B Scholes and G Beaton's Lemrac's Dancing Poet from Lyndale Stables & T Vanthuysen's Kings with P Ahern and W Coyle's Hype third. The Hack 16hh to 16.2hh was taken out by Caroline Wagner's WS Black Label from Sarah O'Connor's Teams II with third going to J & G Laidlaw's Night of Fame. Dale Plumb and Charlotte Mitton's Flawless took out the Hack over 16.2hh from S Merry's Honours and R Lawrie's Sansarin Bay. |
