Adelaide Horses In Training sale is open to all ages with a number of 2,3 and 4yos entered
for the sale. Breeze Ups for the sale were held in late August to give buyer the
opportunity to consider all the offerings with plenty of time before bidding commences. Seventy six 2yos are catalogued for sale including:
Lot 15 is a bay colt by Danehill Dancer from No No Annette and will be offered by Yallambee Stud. The 3rd dam of this colt is Irish stakeswinner Welsh Garden the top ranked filly on the 1975 Irish 2yo Free Hcp and who produced 15 foals for 14 to race all of whom won including the stakeswinners, Molesnes, Celtic Heir, Subjective and stakesplaced Celtic Assembly dam of two stakeswinners including the group 1 winner Cherokee Rose. Be Yourself dam of No No Annette produced six named foals for four to race with all being winners. Breeze up - Well grown type and worked very kenly in his gallop. Beaten narrowly but neither horse was put under full pressure. Lot 19 represents one of two Rubiton stock offer for sale. This bay colt offered by Toorak Thoroughbreds as agents is from multiple winner Pseudo Angel who in turn is out of Reelia Goddess the dam of stakeswinner Red Hope. Other stakeswinners in his damline include the Sydney stayer Jenkins and Adelaide multiple winner Aviate. Breeze up - Worked out in a pair at Morphettville. Looked forward in condition and with little effort drew clear of his galloping partner in the final stages.
Lot 32 (pictured below) is offered on behalf of Yallambee Stud a bay colt by Barathea from Sajama. Barathea is the sire of recent stakeswinners Easy Rocking and Porto Roca amongst his successful progeny while Sajama (by Bletchingly) is the dam of four foals to race for three winners. This colt's grand dam is the stakeswinner Beaumont Babe a half sister to Montrose Lass and dam of top class stakeswinning stayer Skybeau, stakesplaced Natchez and Classy Babe and multiple winners Bay Tram and Mr Logic.
Lot 38 is a bay filly (pictured below) by Geiger Counter from Sister Sue and is offered for sale by Mill Park. This filly is the second foal of her dam with Collegiate (Aust) - Able Win (HK) the winner of three races in Hong Kong. Stakeswinner Bridal Falls is the grand dam of this filly and produced five foals to race with all winning. Bridal Falls is from Group 1 winner Runaway Bride making her a half sister to Vowed the stakeswinning dam of Charm Scene Land and Kingsgate. Breeze up - When asked briefly for an effort appeared to have the ability to sprint clear of her partner but was restrained soon after going to the line with ears pricked under a hold.
Lot 48 is a bay gelding by Fuji Kiseki from Tatiana and is offered by Rubiton Bloodstock as agent. Tatiana has produced the 2yo winner Tyson's Bite and is from the stakeswinning Twig Moss mare Rory's Twig. Rory's Twig is from Rory's Rocket the dam of champion 2yo and champion sire Rory's Jester, stakeswinner Sushi Rocket and Rory's Girl the unraced dam of stakeswinner Very Droll who has produced the Golden Slipper winner Ha Ha and stakeswinner Dry Humour. This colt has been nominated for the 2002 Golden Slipper, Blue Diamond and is eligible for the San Miguel Heroic Championship. Breeze up - In very trying conditions with heavy wind and rain setting in this striking type galloped well under his own steam. With four white socks and a blaze he really knuckled down to the task striding out well to the line. Lot 50 Offered on behalf of Rosemount Stud is a brown gelding by Snaadee from The Ultimate. A winner herself The Ultimate is the dam of 9 time winner Yallah Breeze and is out of the stakesplaced Marquise. Marquise produced three winners at stud and is from the stakeswinner Birthright (by Rego) and is also the 3rd dam of the Group 1 winner in New Zealand Cinder Bella. Birthright is a foal of the famous broodmare Dark Jewel. At stud Dark Jewel produced 10 named foals for 9 winners including Baguette (by Rego and winner of the Golden Slipper Stakes plus Champion Australian 2yo), Heirloom (by Rego and equal top 2yo filly of her year plus winner of 9 races including the Group 1 Thousand Guineas), Cabochon (15 wins including the Group 1 Epsom Hcp) and Betelgeuse (stakeswinner with 13 career wins). Breeze up - In extremely wet conditions at Geelong this gelding strode out well towards the line. Lot 52 is a brown gelding by Last Tycoon from Tudor Primrose offered by Forextra Lodge. This colt is the second foal of Tudor Primrose who in turn is from stakeswinner Jewel Flight. Jewel Flight produced 13 foals for 11 to race and 6 winners including multiple Group 1 winner Diamond Shower (dam of stakeswinner Double Your Bet and stakesplaced Diamond Dane), stakesplaced Diamond Storm and Diamond Prelude the dam of stakeswinners Our Cashel and Diamond Cashel. Breeze up - Appears a tall type and while not pushed for an effort worked keenly to the line.
Lot 70 is a chestnut colt by Royal Academy from Briko offered by Yallambee Stud as agent. This colt is the first foal of Sir Tristram mare Briko but his grandam is the unraced Bletchingly mare Nilkerie who has produced 4 to race with 3 winners including Educate. The dam of Nilkerie is the multiple stakeswinner Nunkalowe who produced 9 named foals 8 to race for 4 winners. Amongst those winners was the stakeswinner Biscalowe (by Biscay) who in turn produced the Golden Slipper winner and sire Marauding (by Sir Tristram), the stakeswinner and new season sire Springsteen (by Danehill) and Cajun Magic the dam of stakeswinner Voodoo Beat. Breeze up - In the rain this finer built type galloped well under his own steam in the straight holding off his partner by a length.
Lot 86 Offered by Boldmount Pty Ltd is the chestnut colt by Gallo Di Ferro from Imposalot. Imposalot has produced four foals with her other three progeny all winners including Silent Comedian and Sideshow Charlie. The grand dam of this colt is Salote the dam of winners Jewelled Star and Diamonds plus Ziegfield Lass an unraced mare who produced All Grace the dam of champion racehorse Saintly. Salote is out of Dark Queen who also produced multiple Group 1 winner Taj Rossi, Memine (dam of stakeswinner Lady Nurmi) and the unraced Majoram dam of stakeswinners Dark Eclipse (Golden Slipper) and Bagalot. Breeze up - Sprinted well despite the rain and kept on a tight hold throughout.
The 15 3yos catalogued for sale include: Lot 1 Lady Spice. This 3yo filly offered by Rubiton Bloodstock is by Danzig Connection from Dutchy's Gem. Three previous foals of Dutchy's Gem are all winners including the stakeswinner Spice Girl and stakesplaced Shaye Spice (pictured below). Breeze up - Under a tight hold this solidly built filly sprinted nicely beating her companion to the line.
Lot 83 Gogan's Image. This 3yo gelding is offered by Chatswood Stud and is by Naturalism from Etoile De Paris. Etoile De Paris has produced 13 named foals for 7 to race and 6 winners including stakeswinner Only Royale and stakesplaced Green Lightning plus Chanson de Paris (dam of stakeswinner Brandon Prince) and Bluebell Dancer dam of Adelaide stakeswinner Torezal. Breeze up - When asked for his effort in the straight quickened nicely. Completing the catalogue are two four year olds. Lot 65 Ascot Prancer (Ascot Knight-Sweet Prancer) from the damline of Sex Appeal (who produced El Gran Senor (top of the 2yo and 3yo European Classifications during his career) and Try My Best (who headed the 2yo English and Irish 2yo Free Hcp) plus the stakeswinner Solar. Breeze up - Lightly built filly who worked keenly though kept under a tight hold. Lot 67 Beyond Broke (Covetous-Gay Rossina) from the family of Canterbury Belle (3yo filly of the year and winner of 10 races including 2 at Group 1 level), stakeswinner Callao Star and Kiwi Bride (this geldings second dam and grand dam of stakeswinner Coup Wood). Breeze up - Tall strong type this gelding worked well in a solo gallop at Morphettville and strode out well at the finish. |
